Evening Mantras

Hey friends,

So today, I thought to give you an insight on the evenings of Hindu families. Hindu families believe in lighting Diya, worshipping in the evening too. They call this time as Sandhya Kaal. This moment is also known as auspicious time and everyone prefers to speak only positive things during this time.

Hindu ladies clean their home, perform Diya and pray at the temple in their home. During this time, you’ll find a very pure smell of incense outside any Hindu home. A specific set of mantras is chanted during evening time.

What are Evening Mantras

A Diya oil lamp – great for use in evening prayer

The evening time is equally important for those worshipping the Hindu Vedas, as chanting of Mantra also holds a special position during that time. If you chant ram, ram throughout the day, for this is considered equally auspicious anytime. The same applies to Hare Krishna. These simple mantras are like totally bowing down to the divine power.

After all we do as human beings, our worldly affairs end at the end of each day, and so we must remember God once again.

As per Hinduism and Bhagvad Gita, a human should not own anything in any form. It is what He has given and it is what you owe to HIM, so by the end of the day showing gratitude for whatever you were able to do and whatever HE has allowed you to do must be met with total acceptance. So here are the evening mantras, which go totally in spirit with this ideology.

The most effective evening mantras and their benefits

By chanting this mantra, good health, all round happiness, wealth and prosperity can be attracted. Deepa Jyoti signifies the inner light, the consciousness which is capable of changing the mind of the most evil thinker too.

How to use Evening Mantras

Though east is considered as the auspicious direction in Hindu worship, it is suggested to face to the west in the evening.

If you can sit for some more time, you should sit facing west till the stars start rising. A devotee is expected to hold water in hand with each Japa and offer it after completion of Japa every time.

Just as explained earlier, whatever you are gaining is because of HIM and whatever you have been doing is because of HIM so offering HIM everything is the ultimate form of devotion.

Namaste.
